What Information Does MomsWorld Collect About You?

MomsWorld collects information about our users so that we can provide a more interesting and useful service as well as more relevant advertising. We ask for email address and other personal information when you register to become a member ("Member") of our Site or if you sign up to receive our email newsletter or various site data feeds. We also may ask for this information at other times, such as when we conduct surveys on our site.

If you use our online recommendation form to email one of our Site's features to a friend, you will need to provide us with your friend's email address and your email address as a return address. MomsWorld will automatically send this person a one-time email including the recommended feature in the body of the email as well as links back to the Site. In the same email, we will also invite him or her to visit and become a Member of the Site. We will not use these email addresses for any other purpose.

Each time you visit the Site, we will automatically gather your IP address and the web page from which you came. We use IP addresses for site security as well as to better understand the demographic types of people who are using our Site.

We may also collect your email address when you email us any comments or otherwise post or submit content to our Site.

We also use web beacon technology to help track site usage. Web beacons (also called single pixel gifs or action tags) allow us to track page views and trends that inform our future content development, or otherwise to determine aggregate information about our users, including demographic and usage information. MomsWorld also employs web beacons within the context of certain e-mails in order to determine the effectiveness and appeal of those mailings. These web beacons detect and notify MomsWorld if and when you open the e-mail, if your e-mail program is capable of displaying HTML messages, and where you may navigate within these HTML messages. Advertising networks that serve ads on our site may also use web beacons in their advertisements. In general, any electronic image viewed as part of a Web page, including an ad banner, can act as a Web beacon.

How Does MomsWorld Use Your Personal Information?

MomsWorld collects personal information to provide you with a better, more personalized experience on the Site. To do this, we will conduct research on our users' demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information you provide us when you register, or from our server log files. We compile and analyze this research on an aggregated basis. We may also notify you of a product, service, or area of our site that we think will interest you based on the information we've received. If you'd prefer us not to contact you for these purposes, simply go to your edit profile page and opt out.

How Do We Use IP Addresses and Cookies?

Your Web browser or email application automatically provides your Internet Protocol address ("IP address") to other computers with which you communicate over the Internet, so that they know where to send you information. Like many websites, each time you visit the Site, we automatically collect your IP address and the web page from which you came. In order to administer and optimize the Site for you and to diagnose problems with our Site, we use your IP address to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you.
