Should You Force Your Child to Share?
You’re chatting with your Mom friends at a planned group playdate for your 3-year-old kids, when you hear your child erupt in a high-pitched yell, “NO, it’s MINE! Go AWAY!” He’s hugging his new truck and elbowing aside your friend’s curious son. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Go over to your child and try to persuade him to share. If he still resists, let him be.
Go to your child and make him share, even if you have to wrangle the truck out of his grasp.
Go over to both children and say, “If you can’t work it out, I’ll have to take the truck away.”
Don’t intervene. As long as the boys aren’t hurting each other, it’s better that they learn on their own.
None of the above
